sweet talker *

1

sometimes you need a little humor at the table. and if fun is what you’re looking for, look no further than camila prada’s sweet talker salt and pepper shakers. made of fine bone china, these fun little shakers are set to ship in june and would be a fun way to kick off an outdoor bbq. you can contact small pond for purchase (they distribute thorsten van elten goods like this stateside). have fun!

they are cute, it’s true. but there are a million cute salt-and-pepper shaker ideas out there. unfortunately, i, and everyone i know, uses a pepper grinder these days. do you EVER use pepper from a pepper shaker? sorry if i am a snob here but i think the reality is that most people (and especially people snobby enough to care about design – i’m talking about myself here as well as all of you) don’t use pepper from a pepper shaker. hence, all those really cute little salt-and-pepper shaker sets are redundant. it’s such a pity but i think it’s true. i’m sure there are people who will get upset by this post but i am kind of sick of seeing cute salt-and-pepper shakers when they’re so redundant, and those good ideas could be used for something actually relevant. why can’t someone make a really rockin’ designer-y pepper grinder? stop being lazy, you cute salt-and-pepper-shaker makers!

i use salt and pepper shakers.

just wanted to add a vote for those that do.

i use grinders when i cook, but leave s+p shakers on the table for dining.
