From what I’ve been able to read it says they are vinyl adhesive (although the opening shows a stencil process). The rest explains how you can use it; Elle Decor describes it also as ‘motif adhesifs’.

They are vinyl adhesives. They also said you could send them your own designs with the wall measurements and a photo, and they can develop concepts for you! Very cool.

These are very cool! And so weird since I just posted on another french vinyl wall decal sticker company: acte-deco.

They say on the site that the decals stick better on a satin or glossy surface than on a matte finish.

I love the imagery they have used on their site, very tasteful…{especially loving the ochrey-green colour!}….there has been loads about vinyl stickers in Elle Deco UK for the last few months, and many of them look a bit tacky {v. shiny and cartoon like}..but these are really lovely..:)..thanks for the link! x

Yeah, they’re vinyl adhesive. What you get is a precut piece of vinyl stuck to a low tack backing. The vinyl pattern is input into a computer program and has been cut by a pouncing knife, sort of like a CAD printer - about 24 inches wide. Once the vinyl is cut, it is “weeded,” the process is rather fun, the designer (or vinyl person) removes the negative spaces to reveal the patter. Then a slightly tackier face tape is used, stuck on top of the vinyl pattern to allow you, the consumer, to work easily to adhere the pattern to the wall - what you’re seeing in the introduction on their website (it appears clear, sometimes they are paper white). To get a good adhesion, you line the vinyl on the wall space, it’s sandwiched between its backing and the face tape. Adhere the face tape/vinyl/backing temporarily with blue painters tape. Lifting up the face tape, the vinyl peels off its backing and reveals the sticky back of the vinyl. The face tape will remain with the pattern until you have pressed it into place. Once the vinyl is adhered to the wall and rubbed down (a credit card works well here), then you peel the face tape off, usually it is done so the tape is nearly parallel to the wall or surface so the vinyl does not peel away as well.

It’s an easy process, vinyl produces some amazing results.

these are really pretty & simplistic. most are a bit too over the top for my taste. i sw that there was a button for english but it didn’t work. i wonder if they are working on that.
anyone know if those of us in the us can order? i can’t read french. how much are they? & how do you take them off b/c my landlord doesn’t even want me painting.

i really want to do these vinyl adhesives, especially since i have an apt and can’t paint the walls.

I found a fantastic site that does them in the UK. There is a rumour that the designers behind them are quite well known in the deisgn world but are keeping quiet about their involvement.

I’ve bought StickyUps in a white, flock design and they are supercool - they really look good on our white walls. They stand out but are so subtle (if that makes any sense!). They also have great modern designs for decorating kids rooms…

There is a fab company in the UK called inspiredecor. They were at the Ideal Home Show a couple of years ago and they have some fantastic designs. Also, you can work with them to create something bespoke at an incredible price (low). They are little known and don’t advertise very much. They do some unusual canvases and use lots of fantasy type vinyls, i.e glitter and iridescent colours. I bought some in a pearlescent vinyl which was perfect and very subtle.
