lake cabin help?

lookout

just wanted to take a quick second to ask for advice from everyone out there. for those of you in the northeast, do you have any suggestions for good hotels, b&b’s, cabins, anything in the northeast near mountains or lakes? ac and i are celebrating our three year anniversary and have been trying to find something anywhere in new york but seem to be out of luck. just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions…we’ve tried mohonk and the lake placid lodge (something like this is perfect) but no luck on the fireplace or cabin. just thought i’d check with the northeast travelers among us…thanks!

My parents have a log cabin and a cottage for rent in Laconia New Hampshire. It’s on Silver lake right off of Winnepasauke.
Both have fireplaces - the Log Cabin’s fireplace is just for display though - I’m not so sure how warm it would be. Both are very nice and cozy. If you are interested let me know and I will send some photos.

Its beautiful up there and I’m pretty sure it’s available. A great location in the lakes region of New Hampshire - beautiful breathtaking views everywhere you turn.

I would also look into anything in Meredith New Hampshire, Sandwhich New Hampshire or something in the White Mountains National Park.

My husband and I evacuated from Katrina to New Hampshire and spent the entire winter and spring there - it was heavenly.

A few years back, a beau and I stayed a few days at Fogarty’s B&B. Realizing it isn’t a cabin, the historic cottage provides a beautiful vista to view spectacular fireworks overlooking Lake Flower and enjoying wine by the charming fireplace -once featured in a brandy ad!

My family vacationed on lake paradox every summer when I was growing up-a cute cluster of cabins on a lake. Their website is http://www.lakeparadoxclub.com. The prices are steep in the summer but not so bad the rest of the year and all the cabins have fireplaces.

elk lake lodge in the adirondacks is incredible!. it is the only thing on the lake, with views of the high peaks and loons calling in the evening. there’s a main lodge and then private paths lead to cabins (which are charming but more contemporary) w/ fireplace, deck, lake views. meals in the lodge included. byo wine. elklakelodge.com

Check out http://guesthouseatfieldfarm.thetrustees.org/pages/658_williamstown_the_berkshires.cfm

We went there for our mini-moon (we couldn’t take a longer honeymoon right after our wedding, so we went for a few days). It’s super design-y but not at all pretentious, and an easy drive from Brooklyn.
