if you’d like to consume or display food on agate, i can think of no better way than to do so with rablab’s agate hors d’oeuvre plates. colorful, unexpected and well, earthy, they’re a nice change of pace and will give the old trays a rest. available at elsewares for $68 each. enjoy!

Sushi would look incredible on these … I’m guessing it wouldn’t change the temperature or taste at all?

hmm..i’m guessing not. i’m sure it wouldn’t affect the flavor but i don’t know about temperature. i’m assuming it wouldn’t change it anymore than serving it on wood or other organic materials…but i’m not an agate expert.

These are perfect for sushi – superior to wood since the surface is easy to clean. Cut agate is like a smooth natural glass surface.

In fact, you could even pop the plates in the fridge until it’s time to plate the sushi and they would keep it chilled on the table.

These would make a statement on any dining table.
