small stakes

the small stakes, out of california, has one of my favorite selections of handmade silkscreened posters. i always think it doesn’t matter whether you like the band or not … it matters if the design speaks to you. i have a Fugazi poster hanging in my apartment and have probably heard one song from this band. i just love the design. the small stakes sells their posters very cheaply so all you need are a few tacks {i use nails + clips myself} and you have yourself some really lovely wall-coverings. check out the small stakes selection online right here.

I guess I kind of disagree with the idea of getting a poster from a band you know nothing about, but that is just the way I would handle it I guess.

If I was at your house/apt and saw a poster of Matt Pond PA and asked you what your favorite song was and you responded saying you don’t really listen to them, I would surely be disappointed.

But the posters are nice. Reminds me of gigposters.com

brian, interesting points. i see what you’re saying. thanks for commenting!

i am the kind of person who loves music but doesn’t remember names of songs anyway so i think that you can see why my love of design might come first.

i guess i think it’s a great way to be introduced to bands though too.

cheers!

Wow, this great! They make posters for some of my favorite bands! Yet another thank you for an amazing find, although, you’re making me spend money I don’t want to spend. Thank goodness you’re focusing on affordable art, or I’d be toast!

You know, I can see myself getting that Josh Ritter poster and using it as a kind of frame by putting another image in the center over the text. Hmm. Might have to do that!

These are a great fix for making a boring cubicle or office space hip! Also, they’re fairly large so they make an impact. Thanks!

I’m with Brian. Surely if someone had a Fugazi poster in their home I would think they support their music if not the beliefs they espouse.
