(mini) sneak peek: jenny’s cabinets

i love seeing how people choose to personalize their home. d*s reader jenny lives in north carolina and was kind enough to share a little peek into her kitchen with us. jenny hired her friend and local artist (and rock poster king) ron liberti to silkscreen this silhouette print onto their kitchen cabinets. it’s definitely not something you’ll see in everyone’s kitchen and i love all of the possibilities you could have with this medium. i’d love to silkscreen a simplified version of my favorite wallpaper pattens on cabinets. how fun. click here to see larger pictures of jenny’s cabinets. [thanks, jenny!]

That is really cool. I especially love the zoomed out shot showing it in context of the room. Then it makes perfect sense.

I love Nancy Drew and never would have thought to use that silhouette in such a fabulous way!

Hmm…. I can’t decide if I like it or not yet. It definitely is something different. I think this technique would be awesome with a really subtle pattern.

Wow - does Ron do things commercially? I would love to commission to do a project like that. Do you know how to get in touch with him?

I don’t see what that home has to do with this one? It’s nice but I don’t see it.

I LOVE it all. I’m in the midst of painting my cabinets white, oh how I wish I had an artistic friend too!!! I was hoping you could ask Jenny what paint color the wall is. I’ve been debating about going blue too, there’s so much to choose from. Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated.
