buy small wooden pieces (mine are like 2 inches thick) to build a framefirst, prime the pegboard with a super thin coat of primer (too thick and it will fill the holes) laying flat
second, paint the pegboard and frame the desired color (if you want a color), laying flatonce dry, drill the wooden pieces into the wall to form a frame you'll screw the pegboard onto.once the frame is on, drill the pegboard directly on top of the frame (you need the frame to create space between the pegboard and the wall, so you have room to hang hooks)once the pegboard is attached, use pegboard hooks to attach your pans :)

eliza

it’s broken because sadly domino magazine is no more- basically you just:

buy pegboard, cut to desired size<br

Would someone who's made it, knows how to make it, or knows of another link, post and enlighten me? My tiny kitchen and my sanity thanks you.

The link, describing how-to make this project, is broken. We used straight pegboard hooks for hanging. Nice to have all the gear within reach, and nice to look at. Thanks again!

Thanks for the great idea — we were this close to installing an ordinary store bought metal pot-rack before spotting your article (in fact, I sold it as soon as I saw that beautiful green pegboard of yours!).

We went the easy no-painting route of the silver coated pegboard — though I do love the idea of using the pot rack as an opportunity for a color splash in the kitchen, too — mounted on a frame, then anchored into drywall. If not, can you tell me specifically what kind of hooks you used? I've tried a few:

1) "S-hooks" don't fit into the pegboard and
2) if you don't use the visible black plastic component of the "Locking Peg Hooks" the hooks fly off the board during use.
3) Even the "Curved Peg Hook" that appears to have an extra nub that hooks into a 2nd hole on the board comes off with the lift of a pan.

It seems so simple -- but I am not having any luck. Specifically, what brand, what name, a description, anything! THANKS!!

HOOK ME UP! Do your hooks fly off the board when you lift off a pan?
