brooklyn designer sarah cihat is one of my favorite local ceramicists. perhaps best recognized for her line of rehabilitated dishware, sarah has also produced a high-end line of ceramic vases and votives. now sarah is introducing a line called perfume in porcelain, in conjunction with her friend frederick bouchardy of joya candle. six scents from joy will be housed in sarah’s ceramic sculptures and will be available as part of a limited edition sold at barneys co-op this month and then at additional retailers in november. i haven’t smelled these yet (and i’ll admit i’m not much of a candle girl. i tend to prefer the smell of food cooking. mmm…fresh bread) but i love the ceramic pieces sarah designed (the keys and thistles are my favorite). you can click here for more information on sarah and here for more information on joya. just shoot her a line if you’d like more info on the candles.
