Chris Meindertsma

Like Elisabeth, I also believe that the new (or perhaps continuing….) trend in 2008 for interior design will be organic shapes and natural materials such as wood, wool and stone… these big knitted poufs by Chris Meindertsma have been on my mind (and wish list…) for some time… such a coincidence that Grace posted them this morning… or perhaps we are all unconsciously longing for warm organically shaped home furnishing… with Winter approaching fast a woolen pouf by the fire place seems a must…

These items will bring a warm and cozy atmosphere in your home. Christien designed this hand knitted rug, together with a knitter, a graphic designer, spinners, farmers and felters from all over the world. Christien designs the products under her own label, These Flocks, a knitwear brand in the broadest sense of the word. You can read the interesting story behind the sheep online at her website or visit her site if you would like to buy one of her amazing pieces.

Other passions that I share with Elisabeth are embroideries, tableware and textiles. In Kuala Lumpur I often buy the most beautiful Japanese magazines, which of course I can’t read but just looking at the images like these make me happy and inspire me to start creating something…. I am currently working on a few embroidery projects… my first ones… will show you some images on Bloesem when they’re done… here are two beautiful Japanese sites: Ecoute! and Rick-Rack. Enjoy!
