dwell studio

if something looks different over at dwell, that’s because they’re completely overhauled their website- and their look. christiane emailed yesterday to announce that dwell had a new logo and a new site. when you launch the studio homepage there’s huge picture to scroll over and around, with little fun facts about the patterns and inspiration-bits on the table. the e-shop is still intact and slighlty cleaned up so if you’re looking for bedding or just a little thursday eye candy click here to check out the new dwell.

I absolutely love all dwell designs, and I get that the new site is quite clever, but it just makes me dizzy. With all the time we spend on computers these days, the simpler the better for me :o) Sorry, dwell.

I agree with the dizzy. I love the concept and the photography, but my head and eyes were hurting!

The new Dwell site is a bit of a knock off of the Calamity Physics website. Not quite as well done and not as easy to use though. I agree, simpler is definitely much better when it comes to websites. Especially for sites that are trying to sell product.

I like it… but I totally agree with the dizzy.

Too much movement on the opening page – motion sickness. I also preferred the bolder look of the previous logo. Products still are wonderful.

I couldn’t make it work. Good idea- but too confusing. They should have come here first for some market research!

They really need to get a good web developer to help them with convoluted navigation system in their e-shop, seriously. I hate trying to find things on their site, it’s easier to just order their (GORGEOUS) bedding through Design Public and be done with it.

I loved the concept of your website, but the interface is just too complicated for the end user. I wasn’t able to click into the shop part – and I just gave up. However, great colors and ideas.
