jennie maneri

kata2-small.jpg
brooklyn based artist (and scad alum) jennie maneri sent over these fantastic sculptures she created. inspired by thhe latest installment in keita takahashi’s katamari damacy series (”beautiful katamari”), jennie created her own “fake” katamari from an assortment of dollhouse furnishings, hobby shop accoutrements, and toy stores oddities. she even handmade pocky and milky packages using inkjet prints on tiny boxes. the entire sculpture is around 12″ high at a 1:12 scale. whether or not you’re into miniatures this is artwork that’s definitely worth checking out. thanks to jennie for sending this over!

Wow, how fun! That reminds me of miniature studies of Nancy Rubins sculptures in such a fantastic way!
