Anh-Minh’s Last Minute Gift Ideas ($50 or less)

Unica Home is great because they’ve got a fantastic selection of big and small items – and, they offer overnight, two-day and three-day shipping via FedEx (which I find to be more reliable than some of the other delivery services out there). Here are my top picks from Unica, all around $50 or less:

There are only a handful of these Colour Calendars ($28) left at Unica, so hurry and get your hands on one (or maybe two – as you may want to keep one for yourself!). Each day is marked with its own Pantone color (see photo above).

Stuffed animals are definitely not just for kids anymore. These Woollyhoodwinks ($30 each) are adorable for gift recipients of all ages. Five characters are available.

These hand-blown oil and vinegar pourers (below) are just $18-23. Gorgeous.

When you’re in a room full of suits, a cool pair of cufflinks can really make a gentleman stand out. In a good way. Unica has quite a few for $54.

The “Diana” by Lomo ($50) is available once again – after being out of production for several decades. The camera allows for great, soft photos (see the example below).

Who wouldn’t want a flight of Vosges chocolates ($24, above) in their stocking?

Give someone special the gift of a diamond this year – an acrylic diamond, that is. Alissia Melka-Teichrow’s rings are as clever as they are inexpensive ($10).

I have a set of the Candelas ($39.99 for a two-pack) in my home and absolutely love them. They come in handy when we have overnight guests (they can use them as cool flashlights to navigate around the house after dark) – or when the power goes out.

I’m curious about other’s experiences regarding ordering from Unica online…

I’ve always been a huge fan of their products and finally ordered a bunch of holiday presents from them to be shipped to NYC. A week after I placed my order I was emailed and told that one of the items wouldn’t ship for another two weeks and then when I got my package containing the rest of the items one of the books was torn at the seams! I’ve also had a really hard time contacting someone at the company to let them know about the damaged books.

Am I the only one having these problems?

And I love all of the last minute gift guides. I’m finished with my shopping but am considering buying some gifts for myself!!

Kristin,

Interesting that you should bring this up … I’ve had mixed experiences with them, in terms of inventory management and customer service response time.

I actually tried to order one of the items I mentioned in the guide (the Colour Calendar). Soon after I placed the order, they called to tell me it was out of stock.

And I just found out from my husband that he attempted to order a Christmas gift from the site … and again, even though he was able to make the purchase, it was not available.

I haven’t had as much trouble in the past, so maybe it’s just a holiday-time issue. Which is still too bad.
