birdie at dear ada posted the most beautiful mixed media assemblages by hunt rettig last week. i love the softness in each one- they almost look like they’re trapped under ice.
It is very nice to see these recognized, we’ve had many inquiries into Hunt’s work this week and they were the hit of our exhibit in Art Miami in early December. The approach Hunt uses is very singular and they are absolutely stunning in person. The works are assemblages of thin film and paper that capture natural light through the curved portions, creating a dimensional look that feels like a lightbox image. Its hard to describe but very transcendental in person.

Does anyone know where I could find any pillows (for a sofa) or rug that is the same pale blue/teal found in the second pic? thanks!
Now I’m very tempted to make something like that from paper! If I do, will post it on my blog.
