I love how great your project turned out -- I've never seen your room look so neat! I like the way one piece of pottery looks by itself, maybe I should wean down my collection. The knobs that someone asked about is from Liberty Hardware -- you can find them on line.

Margaret - I used paint from Behr. The color is called "manhattan mist". I didn't use a primer. I used a brush and just did one coat.

Unfortunately it isn't for sale -- thanks for the compliment though!

It is only in the corner so I could fit the whole thing in the picture frame... the room is tiny and we have a big bed so that is the only reason....

Great painting. I like the color you chose but if you do decide to spice it up with another color later I love mustard yellow and gray together. Just wondering... is there a reason the dresser is all the way in the corner? Personally I think it would look much better if you moved it about4-5 inches away from it... Just my 2 cents. Congrats on a great job :)

could you tell me exactly what kind of paint you used? also, did you use primer (if so, what kind?), how many coats and did you use a roller or a brush? thanks!

I agree Chris - veneer = bad. I may spice up the paint with a contrasting color when I get bored with the current look!

Sorry, but I think veneer NEEDS to be painted. That fake wood grain only serves as a sad reminder that your furniture is made of plastic and particleboard. I do think that a contrasting color on the top or drawer fronts would add a lot though.

Oh man! I love the debate on painting furniture! I totally see your point Georgia, but the wood in this dresser was in terrible shape. Mark had it as a teenager - it was covered in stickers and scratches. Plus, in my opinion, the wood color was pretty ugly.
