holly ormrod

i have a major weakness for anything in miniature form. i don’t collect tiny tea sets or anything but i do love photography that features small-scale installations. so when british artist holly ormrod sent over her work i was instantly smitten with her series called “bookwork” which features a small plastic man crawling through a hole carved in a large book. along with other beautiful book-based installations like the fish-themed “old man and the sea” piece, holly has an online portfolio brimming with gorgeous work. i wish i had the server capacity (argh!) to post dozens of picture here but instead i’ll pick my favorites above and below and link to her spectacular gallery online. enjoy!

I am an absolute sucker for miniatures too, and love the quiet yet extremely clever style! Thank you so much for sharing, I adore it!

I saw this photographer at the Ann Arbor Art Fair last summer, and thought you might like this as well.

We have one of her pieces in our kitchen; her stuff is great!

I, too, am a fan. What is it about miniatures that make them so alluring? I especially love anything miniature out of context, like in the photos you featured above.
