i love a good le creuset pot, but i have a newfound appreciation for vintage cookware. ever since lisa congdon’s “in the kitchen with” last week i’ve been spending my free time bidding on catherineholm bowls on ebay. so when i found this lovely vintage danish pot ($20) and casserole dish ($25) on ladies and gentleman’s etsy shop i had to share them. lord knows i don’t have room for anything else in our tiny kitchen so hopefully one of you guys can grab these beautiful. click here for more info and to buy.

I am currently consumed with vintage bakeware too! I recently hit an antique mall and found a set of Pyrex dishes in the Crazy Daisy pattern. They’re not very pretty but they remind me of my mom, so I bought the whole set. I can’t wait to bring a dish to her house, haha!

I have a thing for pitchers, so lately I’ve been collecting vintage ones. Juice looks so pretty in them. Now only if I had enough guests to use all my pitchers…

I already have more Cathrineholm cookware than I need but that link is so full of goodies… lots of Ebay sellers mispell Cathrineholm (I got a couple of pots super cheap because a seller posted them as Catherine Holmes) so it’s a good idea to try out alternate spellings or search Ebay using fatfingers.co.uk.

I took a blue Danish pot that looks just like the one featured from my mom’s kitchen (with her permission). It came with a little cast iron base for holding a can of Sterno to keep fondue warm.

AH! I’ve been trying to track down a mid century Danish ceramics (?) designer — figured this might be a good post to ask for help! The particular piece I’m in love with is has 3 or so rings of black or navy polka dots around the rim of a white plate. D*S had a link a few mos. ago in her “Around the Web” section on the old site. Then recently, in the last 2 weeks or so, there was an advertiser in the tiles on the right that the plate in their store. I can’t think of the designer’s name though. Anyone?

If you’re in Brooklyn, there’s a really great kitchen store at Lorimer St/Skillman in Williamsburg. They have an amazing variety of le Creuset items and vintage cookwear.

Ah ha! I, too, have been poking around ebay looking at Cathrineholm stuff. Now I know who’s bidding on some of it and raising the prices on me! :)

nooo… not more Cathrineholm fans! I can barely afford them as it is, without people bidding against me!

I love vintage cookware and bakeware, the colors are some much more interesting then anything currently in stores. I have a Dansk Kobestyle pot/lid in aqua that I found at a vintage store, 2 pyrex casserole dishes with aqua white amish print from a thrift store, and 3 sets of pyrex (pink, aqua, blue) mixing bowls from ebay.
