today’s first diy project comes from cara and mark at sew bettie. we saw their before & after makeover project last week but this week we’re getting a little glimpse into their crafty side. this morning they’re sharing a detailed tutorial for a basic oven mitt that can be customized any way you like (stay tuned for a pre-made oven mitt roundup on friday). the basic pattern is simple but cara wanted to add that she likes her oven mitts to fit snuggly, so if this pattern seems like it will be too small to fit your hand, just use a copy machine to increase the size of the pattern (to 120%). so, ready to get started? grab yourself a thick, quilted fabric (make sure it’s thick enough to be heat-resistant, we don’t want anyone to get burned) and download the instructions right here! it’s a large file so it may take a second to load- just a heads up. thanks again to mark and cara at sew bettie for sharing this great pattern project.
if you’re looking for more great ready-to-download diy projects mark and cara sell several different pattern projects for $5 each on their etsy shop right here. my favs? their mailbag pattern and tutorial and apron tutorial/pattern.
[stay tuned for two more diy projects today at 12pm and 1:30 pm]
