hable concepts

1176.jpg
i’m heading over to visit one of my favorite hable ladies (the lovely llubav is a mom now!) this afternoon so i thought it was only fitting to share a section of the hable site i’ve had bookmarked for ages. within their interior design section, hable has a lovely collection of photos of their fabrics in use- whether it’s upholstered on furniture or turned into bedding and curtains (i love the mix of vintage and modern in the photos). i think my idea of heaven is a place where practically everything in upholstered or covered in hable fabric so this “concepts” section of their site is my online happy place. click here to check out the gallery. all photos by rinne allen.

[have a piece of furniture upholstered in hable? i'd love to see it. lately i've gotten hung up on the idea of doing another piece of our furniture in their cheery fabric]

*sigh* if only their fabrics weren’t trade-only.

anyone know where I can buy fabric, cheap, online? not THIS fabric, I know.

I need to make drapes for three rooms and I’m looking for something modern/cute and need loads of yards — thus, the “cheap”

I wish they sold that lamp. I’m in love…. I guess I could try to do it myself, but it would be so much easier to buy theirs:)

It’s lovely, but how are we lowly, non-designer people to acquire Hable fabric? I’ve adored it for ages and longed to recover some small pieces in my house with it.

it’s not too tough- just contact your local design center or look up an interior designer near you (http://www.asid.org/) and ask if they offer fabric services. i know several in nyc that will charge you a small fee to order fabric for you. :)

How would one DIY lampshades with Hable fabric. I hate a the light fixtures in my kitchen but really only need new shades–this would be a great project. Could I simply glue the fabric to the glass shades?

i’m not sure. i’d email hable to ask about the fire safety aspects of the fabric. maybe i’m being a ninny but i would worry about a super hot bulb too close to cotton fabric. just to be careful it couldn’t hurt to ask. i bet they would help as long as this is for personal use and not re-sale.

i just came across a pretty amazing chair at the goodwill today that is sort of crying out for their bead fabric. maybe it’ll be a before and after sometime soon!

I love the blue stripe fabric – if only they made beach towels in that print….

i know the lampbase is by bddw, a wonderful furniture company in nyc…you can buy lamps with fabric lampshades and upholstered pieces at the hable shop in nyc…which is not in everyone’s neighborhood, i know.
many stores that carry hable products throughout the country can also help you get fabric for your own project.
