lighting + projects

lighting.jpg
today i’m taking the first steps towards a new project i’m working on for d*s. it is the most exciting project i’ve ever worked on in the four years of running the site so i cannot wait to reveal it in the coming weeks. all i can say right now is that it will involve a whole lot of decorating research and today i’ve been wading through pendant lamps looking for something inspirational. i found myself bookmarking the entire pendant page of habitat uk’s site so i thought i’d share some of my favorites. i’d love to have that flowery version in my bathroom- it would be so dramatic and feminine.

The ‘grapes’ chandelier is really interesting. I would love to see how that looks lit…in my house. I will check it out.

Love your blog! I’ve been endlessly researching pendants for my entryway. I fell head over heals for the Manhattan Pendant (n the frosted rock crystal)from Fuse Lighting then had to eliminate it as an option when the quote came back around $7,000. Would you please let me know if you come across anything similarly organically glam in your search?
Thanks!

The Tord Boontje pendants are usually available on ebay UK (use Habitat in search for the exclusive Habitat version), but I’ve been told to buy two because the photos uses two garlands and one just looks sparse. fwiw!

Love this link. I like the “Akiko” pendant.

So…..if you purchased a fixture from Habitat UK, would you just get it rewired for the US? Would this be worth it…..I mean, how expensive is that? Anyone know?
