mitch roberson

a furniture-maker for over 15 years, mitch roberson is the artist behind furnitude (a blog devoted to handmade furniture), human hands woodworking (a handmade furniture studio in nashville, tn) and two etsy shops. with a focus on shaker and arts & crafts traditions, mitch creates handmade furniture and accessories from his studio in east nashville. i was really taken by the simplicity and quality of his furniture- and the whimsical nature of his accessories (wooden brass knuckles? i love it). i know i tend to focus on things that are contemporary or have a mid-century flair to them, but there’s really something to be said for someone who has mastered the art of quality wood-working, and from what i can tell- mitch has. i’ve picked some of my favorite pieces above and below, but you can check out mitch’s work in person at the links above (blog, studio, and two etsy shops). enjoy! [thanks, mitch]

Oooh, I love the “brass ring” design. Everything is so lovely, well-made, but still has a bit of humor about it.
