new project: the brooklyn flea!

dwr-w-9.jpg
i’m thrilled to announce a new project i’m working on locally with brooklyn blog celebs brownstoner.com: the brooklyn flea!. the brownstoner team is pulling together an incredible assortment of local sellers and makers to meet every sunday in ft. greene and sell their wares. starting in april, there will be music, special events and some really incredible new and vintage goods for sale in a 40,000 square foot lot right around the corner from fort greene park. there will be furniture, lighting, records, clothes, jewelry crafts and more. it’s going to rule.

the fleamarket team invited me to curate a design section of the flea so i’m slowly building a list of people in the area who’d like to rent out a little table and sell their goods. i thought it would be great to open up the floor and see if anyone in the tri-state area would like to test out the show and sell their goods? if you’re interested in trying things out for a weekend or two (it would be a manageable trip for those in CT, philly or long island) just shoot the flea organizers an email right here (if you’d like to be in the d*s section just make a note of that in the subject or email). see you at the flea!

Aaahhhh….I need to be in a city that does things like this. It sounds like a dream come true. And EVERY Sunday? Awesome!

Yay! I was so sad when the 26th Street flea market was replaced with condos. The fact that this in in my own backyard is even better. Can’t wait.

I read your comments about the upcoming Brooklyn Flea and would like to make one correct. Not all vendors are local. We are making a trip from Albany, NY and others are travelling far as well. As someone who participated in the Chelsea market selling antiques in the past, we look forward to bringing our great architectural salvage finds as well as our own line of home decor. See you there. This is just what New York needs…new blood in the flea market world. With Eric Demby at the helm, this could become the best market in NY since Broadway/Grand closed its doors. We’re traveling from upstate NY as well (exiled from NY…high rents). Look forward to seeing people from far and wide.
