Speaking of Etsy

ab3.jpgab2.jpgab1.jpg

Adriene Bilet’s curious portfolio includes both the rather high-minded “Dots” (fashioned from hand-dyed silk, cut-to-size and pinned in place) as well as cheeky Polaroid Viewfinder necklaces in plastic with lobster claw clasps… Ever resourceful, she’s managed to carve out a workspace from the detritus of a former closet where enjoys from afar her recent collection of vintage Daher tins- designed in the US but made in England. How very nice.

Ms. Sara Sepouchin has handpicked many of her furnishings in the thrift store flotsam and jetsam of our nation’s capitol. A repurposed desktop once graced the offices of a local carshare program and oh how those neon vertical files make my heart go pitter-patter! (If only I knew the Pantone…) In her spare time, this lovely lady diagrams the guts of everyday machines onto ordinary objects, producing what she describes best as “handprinted awesomeness.” Once on the long and lonely path of an architect, Ms. Sara’s now happily resigned to her calling as a Fulltime, Actual, Real-Life Etsy Employee (yes, it’s true).

I have seen Sara’s work and it is indeed lovely! As is Sara herself.

I have the joy of knowing (and working with) Ms. Selepouchin, and I must say — Sara, her colorfully stylish home and her “handprinted awesomeness” are indeed ALL super fabulous. Sara has a great collection of indie artists’ work sprinkled throughout her house, too.
