i just bought my tickets to los angeles for the biz ladies meetup on april 15th and the trip is starting to feel more and more like reality. i can’t wait to enjoy some sunny weather, eat great food and see the sites- as well as some incredible local designers. speaking of incredible local designers, i’m thrilled to add designer tanya aguiñiga to the list of speakers at the LA biz ladies meetup. tanya will be sharing her story with us so i wanted to share some of her latest work here this morning. on april 12th, tanya will open an installation at the tinlark gallery in hollywood called “lineation”. this show marks the first time tanya will integrate the process of weaving with furniture to create an installation. each chair shown at the gallery will have a 30 foot train hand woven on a loom. this train will become the seat, backrest, ceiling and eventually create an environment around the chairs. i’m definitely going to have to check this out in person but if you’d like to see more of tanya’s work in the meantime, just click here- or here to rsvp to the meetup and meet her in person.
