weekly wrap up + LA biz ladies update

i’m booking my tickets to fly to LA today for the biz ladies meetup on april 15th! i’ve never been to los angeles to i’m incredibly excited to see everything for the first time. i wanted to share a few more details as they come in. like the other meetups, we’ll have four speakers covering PR/marketing (that’s me), retailing/wholesaling (the lovely ladies of reform school), business and legal advice (lindsay horstman at smith barney) and a local designer (tanya aguiñiga!) to tell their success story and talk about their experience taking a business from hobby/past-time to full-time job. if you’d like to attend the meetup and haven’t rsvpd yet just shoot me a line here. we’ll meet at the beverly blvd dwr from 7-9pm on april 15th- see you there! until then, here’s a summary of this week’s highlights [image above: halo chandelier at rian rae]:

I know that you’re coming to LA for the design, but don’t forget the food! Throw a dart at a world map and you can find authentic food from wherever it hits right here in LA.

If you have any specific cravings, let me know and I would be happy to point you to some of my favorites.

Hi Grace- Just a quick clarification. The event that is happening in Seattle on April 16th at Velocity is part of a new series of monthly events at Velocity called The Lab. It is open to both men and women to help foster a creative dialogue in Seattle. You can read more about in our news section of our website. Special thanks to Paola to help organize these events and to Dry Soda for providing the yummy drinks! Thanks! John

You’re going at the perfect time to go to the Getty. The garden is a wonderful respite from the eastern winter and it smells wonderful with the chives. :)

Reform School is one of my favorite stores in LA! And I’m a huge fan of Tanya Aguiniga too - got to meet her at a craft fair here :)
