2008 d*s reader survey + alena hennessy print prizes!

every year i like to take a moment to conduct a short reader survey so i can get a better picture of who our audience is and what you like (and don’t like) about design*sponge. i’m not a big survey fan myself so i try to keep these as infrequent as possible and offer a little surprise to a few lucky survey entrants. this year, designer alena hennessy has kindly offer to donate four of her beautiful eco-friendly fabric prints to survey entrants who will be chosen at random. at the end of the survey we’ll use a random number generator to select four people who will have alena’s organic cotton prints mailed to them, just for filling out the survey. if you have a moment, i would greatly appreciate it if you could answer the survey- it helps me get a better idea of what you’d like to see on the site, areas you think are working (and not working) and how i can better tailor content to fit your needs, interests and budget. thank you again to alena for donating her incredible work.

click here to fill out the 2008 d*s reader survey.

[if you would like to be eligible for the print giveaway please leave your email address with your entry. your email address will be used only for contact if you're one of the four winners.]

I didn’t see a place to put your email after doing the survey.

Blake

It’s on page 11, the “thank you” page. I just took the survey to test it and it’s there at the end :)

grace - when I click on the boxes, nothing appears. they are highlighted when the cursor is over them, but they don’t stay selected after I click…any help?

After page 7, it sent me back to the first page. I tried again and it did the same thing. I guess I will try again later, maybe something isn’t compatible with my computer.

kate and karen

if you shoot me an email i’ll figure out what’s going on. i’ve got 382 full responses collected already so i think it’s working ok. it could be a browser issue.

sorry for the troubles.

Hi,
I’m having trouble completing the survey. It won’t allow me to tick off any of the boxes.

I’ve tried to fill it out in both Safari & Internet Explorer and am having the same troubles as Kate. Can you recommend a different browser?

The survey didn’t include (that I observed) a section of comments. Did I miss it?

I had the same problem as Kate!

hi guys

i’m not sure what the problem is- i sent an email to the tech team for the survey site. i’ve filled it out on my computer using IE, safari and firefox and it worked each time. so far we have over 500 completed entries so i’m trying to figure out why it works for some computers and not others…

so sorry for the problem, i’m looking into it.

I was hoping there would be a place for comments of the survey, but alas there was not, so I will leave it here:

I read this blog while at work, and my company has flickr blocked, so I do not get to see most of the pictures that are posted. I didn’t know if anyone else was in this same position - if so, maybe you could use a variety of photo sites?

I used Safari too and had no problems. I found it easy to read and quick to take =) I love Alena’s prints. they are so simple and pretty.

There’s no 40K to 50K box - can you add one?

April 3rd, 2008 - 12:47 pm

Grr, I’m using Safari with no luck…

I didn’t have any trouble, but I was all ready to post my own little comment on the survey and there wasn’t a space… I’ll do it here!!

When asked what I liked best about D*S, I only checked a few boxes -but honestly, I really enjoy all of it. I read every word, I click on nearly every link you give and I can’t wait to go to a city that has a city guide!! I want to use one so bad lol

Thanks so much,
Kristin

It didn’t work for me on Safari but does on Firefox. Try switching…

there wasn’t a place for comments or suggestions, so I’ll put it here: I just wanted ot say that I’ve loved your blog for a long time, but I do miss some of those individual “look what i found” posts that you used to do. Now with the product guides, I think there is a lot less than that. But I love the random short little blub about this beautiful letter press compnay or that artist, or this vase etc. I wish you’d go back to doing that sometime. Some midday eyecandy and spontineity. But, seriously: you’re wonderful!

I couldn’t find a comment section, so I’ll say it here (and posting a comment for the first time! I’m a longtime lurker here on d*s):

I noticed your survey was geared mostly towards adults or people that rent/own their own place… I just wanted to let you know that teenagers read your blog too (at least, I do) and I LOVE it.

Survey was smooth sailing! I sure hope I am one of the random picked, I love these prints:)

Love your blog Grace!

no problems with the survey.

alena’s new line is beautiful and she’s a great person. i had the wonderful opportunity of being her intern last summer. if you aren’t randomly selected for these prints, buy one for yourself. they make a lovely addition to any room!
