normally i don’t do book reviews at d*s but i was thrilled to be a (small) part of a wonderful book that just came out last week: brooklyn modern (rizzoli, 2008) by diana lind. diana set out to explore the relationship between brooklyn’s artistic rebirth and its emerging architecture. she was kind enough to invite me to write an essay for the book on the brooklyn design scene and its own ‘rebirth’ or resurgence in popularity. i was joined by jonathan from brownstoner among others and you may even recognize a familiar face in the book- lena corwin’s lovely home was chosen as one of the examples of brooklyn style and interior design. from cover to cover, diana’s book is full of beautiful homes- one of which i saw while we were out on the scooter today. it was so fun to come home, flip through the pages and get a little sneak peek into the private world of these modern homes. you can click here to check out diana’s new book or here to pick it up at amazon. congratulations to diana on a wonderful book!
