Where is your studio located?

I work in a room in my apartment, I find I get less distracted this way.

What equipment/tools do you use?

Nothing extraordinary. Graphite pencil, my favorite pencil from Rotring. Acrylic paint/brush. And very much and often my computer (scanner and photoshop).

Do you use an inspiration board or can you tell us what is inspiring you at the moment? (please provide a link to a visual or picture of your inspiration/bulletin board).

I put things on my wall, but mostly to remember them or when I don’t know what to do with them. But I have started to realize the good thing about a mood board. To make a mood board to get started and to keep yourself on track. One could easily use the Flickr favorites for that, or just for inspiration. I’m inspired by, and have been for a while, paper-texture-shapes.

How do you create best (e.g. listening to music, etc.)?

Before starting with a new project I will have to tidy up a bit, drink a cup of coffee, surf on the web. Slowly getting to what I have to do. I like to listen to music, especially if I’m painting. I listen to music that has the same feeling as what I want to create. Like an audio mood board.

Are you working on anything new and if so, can we have a sneak peek? (even if it’s just a corner of something if you don’t wish to reveal the entire project yet)

Lately I’ve been working on a collaboration with Karin Eriksson. She’s been making ceramic pieces that I’ve attached stories on. It’s been and still is a great project, we have already started to think about a continuation. I’m always making illustration projects. Oh yes, I’ve done illustrations for Molly’s cookbook (see image below)! It will be released in march 2009. I’ll start making my contribution to the next Café Royal… any day now.

List three of your favorite artists (with links please)::

Since I’m inspired by paper-texture-shapes right now I’ll say - Alicia Henry, always Alma Allen’s sculptures and the third…. why not Monica Canilao or Jon Pylypchuk!

If yours isn’t, what would be your perfect studio?

On the top floor here - Four entrances, one to a big city, the second one to a green forest, the third to the ocean and the fourth to a small town with a nice café ;)

Camilla - Your answer to the “perfect studio” is so close to how I would have answered…city to forest with the required cafe close by :^) That would be ideal…
