Stella Alesi

This guest blog has been such a blast for me! It satisfies my nosy tendencies while inspiring me to look at my own creative space in a new way. This next home/studio is no different. The husband and wife team that make up Stella Alesi / Photography are more than talented. Their images are fun and spunky and yet still manage to capture the spirit of the day, the emotion behind all of the hoopla…

And where their photographs are often free-spirited and whimsical, their home in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood of South Austin, is all about precision and order. It makes sense to me that to allow for creativity to thrive and grow, a space that is clear of clutter is a must. The sense of order and simplicity runs through every corner, every room within this house. Their interior design  aesthetic is clean and streamlined, with an absolute awareness on pattern, shape and form. There is beauty in the continuity of each room and the simplicity of the space.

One of the most memorable comments that a friend made upon visiting this home and studio was that it was "like walking through living art." The garden is much more of an extension of the home, a room in and of itself, with the beautiful landscaping and an organic painting. The walls of the home, inside and out, display the couple’s own work as well as artist friends.

I also love that their personal life and their work are completely intertwined with the backyard studio being only a few steps away…

If you have a few minutes today, definitely check out the Stella Alesi site and the gorgeous botanical paintings that Stella creates at David’s Gallery in Austin. You can also see one of their gorgeous, bohemian chic weddings Style Me Pretty.

Stella and Brian are a pretty fun and creative South Austin couple, that’s for sure!

I really like Stella’s recent berry paintings, especially since it’s smoothy season. :) But my favorites have always been those crazy, green, amoeba creatures she paints. Like the ones she has displayed on this site: http://www.alesiart.com/
