Sugar Paper

The next designer is one of my all time favorite stationery designers….Chelsea of Sugar Paper in Los Angeles. For those of you that aren’t familiar with Chelsea and her partner Jamie’s work, you HAVE to spend some time checking out their website. With that said, pictures hardly do their incredible letterpress justice. The girls have built their business on the "We Believe" model. In a nutshell, "We believe in the hand written note. We believe letterpress printing is an art. We believe simple is beautiful and quality matters. We believe love is in the details - details like a crisp impression on extra-thick paper, brightly colored edging, and ric rac stitching. We believe stationery is an extension of personal style…"

Chelsea’s home captures the same handmade, but sophisticated sentiment of both her store and her letterpress. Filled with artwork that she’s found on Etsy, every corner is tended to. Her love of design and simplicity shines through, giving way to a space that is lovely and oh-so-inviting…

I have had a hard time finding a word for Chelsea’s style other than charming. Completely and utterly charming. Her attention to detail, her sweet accents and styling…everything just comes together in a really beautiful way.

For more of Chelsea’s work, check out the Sugar Paper website…it’s filled with little nibbles of eye candy.

AH! What is that blue-grey wall color? I need to know, I am supposed to paint my boyfriends bedroom today and that is THE color. He keeps leaning towards powdery blues, I have to tell him it needs to be grey-ed out or else it’ll look like a nursery. Paint color, please!

Okay, the paint is either Farrow and Ball lamproom grey or restoration hardware silver sage, as she uses both in her house. Hope this helps!

thanks so much. We painted and it looks good, not quite as grey as I would have hoped…It ended up being kinda “sea-glassy”…why is choosing paint such a crap shoot? When I do my house, I will be using that lamproom grey!!! Thanks for the info!

You’re right! Chelsea’s store is amazing. Her style is classic, creative, and authentic. Her personality–should you meet her–is as fun as her store. Sassy, classy & sophisticated. Love it!
