A calm and soothing bedroom for a baby to unwind and sleep in strikes me as an excellent idea. There are so many other more appropriate places where babies can gain stimulation throughout the day. Anything that can be done to help a baby get to sleep, and sleep well, is wonderful!

Art and design is obviously in the eye of the beholder. Our philosophy is that you don’t have to check your design sense at the door when you become a parent. Bedrooms in our household are intentionally tranquil and inviting; because we have the luxury of living in California our boys spend the majority of their time outdoors. As parents we try to offer as many stimulating opportunities to our children from educational toys and books, culture, travel, art, and music. i find this quite depressing. it’s so over-designed. it’s a baby, not martha stewart. i hope you add some more interesting elements that are more designed with the baby in mind.

The kid has his whole life to have a room like this- I like the idea, but not for a baby. I’d introduce a few more whimsical elements (such as color, pattern, repetition, etc…) to make it more fun and more reflective of the excitement, hope, wonderment, and happiness of a having a new baby!
