art + commerce: erwan frotin prints

erwan1.jpg
one of the first places i interviewed when i decided i wanted to move back to nyc after graduation was art + commerce. i was so impressed by their client roster and the incredible range of artists and work they represented. sadly i ended up doing grunt work at a record label instead (though i’m sure everything happens for a reason) but i always wonder what it would have been like to work there. recently art + commerce released a beautiful series of signed prints by erwan frotin that are not to be missed. flora olbiensis is frotin’s portrait series of ‘tiny wild flowers found in the fields and forests around the villa noailles in hyères, france’. the villa was home to vicountess marie-laure de noailles who was a patron of artists like man ray and jean cocteau. erwan’s beautiful prints can be purchased only right here and would make a lovely (and unique) housewarming or wedding present. click here to view the full collection and to shop online.

[more beautiful things: lisa congdon and lisa solomon's joint show at art stream studios in new hampshire]

These seem like a wonderful inspiration for drawing

These prints are just amazing. They’re just so odd. Very cool.
