Bottle Shop Antiques

post9_1.jpg

Something I’ve always wanted to do in my buying travels is take pictures inside antique shops. When I discovered Bottle Shop Antiques in Salt Point, NY this past winter, I couldn’t wait to return with a camera. For about 30 years now, owner Kevin De Martine has been making sure every bare bit of space in this old carriage house is covered with vintage wares. There’s a bit of everything here, but unlike most shops of this nature, it’s amazingly well organized, and EVERYTHING has a price tag. There is one room with just old bottles, one room with just vintage glassware, and several rooms just literally covered in rusty metal tools and kitchen utensils. And the outside space around it is just as impressive, with old sinks, doors, windows, and metalwork scattered about. It’s an absolute pleasure to spend an hour wandering through here, and well worth the stop if you find yourself anywhere near Salt Point this summer.

The Bottle Shop, 2552 RT 44, Salt Point, NY, Open 11-7, Closed Tuesdays, 845-677-3638
