The third week of July I’m listening to a ConEd rep on the radio talk about keeping the city cool and safe….about monitoring the system. I’m watching a tuft of cat hair blow around on the floor. Everything seems to have slowed way down in the city… Have you noticed?

We shuttered Saipua for the month of July. Neither soap nor flowers fair well in the heat. Now Eric takes time to read his magazine in one sitting. I remember to take care of my plants. Sound mundane? It is! But we need this valuable time to recharge creatively…we visit, listen to music, fix things that need fixing and eat more ice cream.

This week I’ll be watching time go by with the occasional occasion. I’ll take some new pictures and dig out some old ones. This will be the fuel for our re-emergence in August.
