[All Images of R-20th Century on Franklin Street]
Since I’ve got furniture on the brain I wanted to share a few more finds with you here. I’m lucky enough to live in Tribeca, a surprisingly furniture-centric neighborhood that is not often thought of as such. Right next to my building on White Street is the classic New York shop of Steven Sclaroff. They moved to this location about a year ago and it is fantastic for amazing vintage finds. Though Sclaroff is known mostly for his furniture finding abilities they also have one of the best collections of vintage accessories I’ve ever seen.

Around the corner on Franklin Street is another incredible furniture gallery, R-20th Century. Headed by Evan Snyderman and Zesty Meyers R has been showing amazingly rare mid-century pieces for over ten years now. If you are in the neighborhood, though they are very different, both Steven Sclaroff and R-20th Century are must-sees for any furniture junkie. Outside the neighborhood (and New York for that matter) some other things that have caught my eye as of late: Semigood Furniture out of Seattle and San Francisco; Detershin out of Los Angeles; and TeDe in Japan. All worth checking out if and when you have the chance. Till tomorrow… [image above: Wendell Castle's ethereal 'White Edition' Cloud Shelf in gel-coated reinforced plastic (signed and numbered edition of 50, 2006).
