I love Katherine’s patterned floor (#1) - how gorgeous. I’d love to know how she did that… : )

WOW! Such great entries it’s so hard to pick! I may have to choose Michelle’s though - just because I have a little dachshund too.

I think a few of the walls are stunning but the ingenuity of the patterned floor from Entry #1 is the most incredible.

Good lord, I love those Johnny and June roller shades. The Patsy Cline HSP poster on top of it all won my vote for #4!

All great spaces - but the white pattern on the floor is gorgeous! I would love to know how Katherine did that - stencil? freehand?

i also want to hear more about michelle’s curtains. did she print them herself?

Love the RADIATOR; what a clean, fresh look for an old familiar friend. The pattern is perfect to the design of the subject.

katherine, where did you get that beautiful dining room table?! it’s exactly what i’ve been looking for to go with an old oak church pew I have in my dining room.

I love the silhouettes in #6! Is that wallpaper, or was it stenciled/hand done? I also love the floor in #1. It looks like that technique made a floor that ‘needed lots of love’ look stylish without the cost of refinishing.

July 25th, 2008 - 12:10 pm

ahhh the rock and roll prints are amazing! love them!

Stunning! I’m so torn — Katherine’s patterned floor, or Meredith’s patterned walls? What lovely inspiration….

The silhouttes are so lovely. I think they are hand painted because you can see the tiny imperfections in the wall.

July 25th, 2008 - 1:18 pm

the floor is stellar! i’m also loving the rock and roll shades. awesome all in all, you have some hard decisions to make. good luck!

Also, the last entry does a fine job with smaller examples…

Catherine said:

that’s for all the lovely comments. all the entries are great!
i got inspiration from the floor for a place in mexico. I designed my own pattern and stenciled it onto cardboard. it was a lot of work, but so much fun. and you’re right jennifer, this was totally a way to pass the time on our kitchen floor until we are able to refinished it!

ps. k.a. booth. the table is borrowed from a friend while she’s traveling the world (lucky!). but, i have found some cute ones at crate and barrel! try there.

Thanks! I bought that bedding at Anthropologie about two years ago. It was a clearance bin score and sadly, not available anymore. But the brand is Dwell and the pattern is called Silhouette. I think you can still get a reversed version in different colors.

Wow, what a glorious feast of pattern - so hard to choose my favourite… And I may be wrong, but it seems that the design Christine has put on her radiator is inspired by one of my protea decals. What fun!

July 28th, 2008 - 1:48 am

July 28th, 2008 - 6:19 pm

I prefer Michelle’s design because I feel transported into the Danish royal family’s table, and to a very cosy and simple house at the same time… two different and complementary sensations

I love Catherine’s Patterned Floor!

The modern yet whimsical feel of the pattern on top of the old mismatched wood floor is perfect. What a great solution to sprucing up the floor without doing all the stripping, sanding and re staining. I would love to know how she did this!

July 29th, 2008 - 1:10 pm

we fell in love with a gingham duvet that Muji made but no longer carried… so we searched for the fabric and made it ourselves. it’s such an easy project… think giant pillow case.
