lost river modern

wv11.JPG
i love west virginia. like, love love. i have the best memories of summer camp, time at the greenbrier, and freezing summers spent rafting down incredible rivers. i think the state gets a bad rap (especially up where i live) so i love seeing modern homes like this pop up in such a beautiful place. if you’re looking for an incredible place to get away from it all, connect with nature and reconnect with life outside of the office, may i suggest this fantastic modern cabin, lostrivermodern, in west virginia. this modern prefab cabin was on materialicious (i’m really into that site right now) yesterday and i’m seriously already considering packing my bags for a last-minute summer trip. if you’re looking for a getaway click here for more information- even if you’ve never been to “wild, wonderful” west virginia this house should be a fun place to relax for a few days.

Wow — this is beautiful! I used to live in DC, and we would go to Berkley Springs, WV for a quick get away. It really is a beautiful state.

i fell in love with virginia as well when i went to visit a friend there not too long ago. And I love the entire look of this home. (the wood and the clean lines!) I’d move right in. xo

Any new house I move to will definitely have to have a bank of windows on one side at least. I have a sun room and just love it.

We were the “test guests” earlier this summer, and have since rented the cabin again since then. It is absolutely beautiful - a modern retreat in the mountains. The house is built on a slope, so from inside the house it feels like you’re in a treehouse. Very cool

Well, John Denver had me sold on West Virginia back when I was 5. ;) This looks beautiful, and if it wasn’t so darn expensive to fly to the other coast, I’d love to be there.

This be a great feature — great houses for rent? I’m always looking for something for a week.

It’s too hard to use hotels with babies unless you have really good babies OR you don’t care if your babies cry and drive the neighbors insane. Also, it’s a drag to have to go to bed when the kids do. But you can’t exactly leave them alone in a hotel room when you go to the bar (altho heather/dooce did once and the whole world came down on her, remember that?)

if anyone wants to see other prefab modern homes by this architecture firm, go to http://www.re4a.com/

We have seriously been considering a prefab modern home…Grace, it would be lovely if you covered this space, there is not enough of it out there!
