sexy surge protector

wire-pod1.jpg
i’m not normally a big tech equipment person (though we are in the market for a well-designed paper shredder) but i’m seriously enjoying this surge protector that d*s reader gibwa sent me (via geekologie). this will probably be on a gajillion blogs by the time this post goes live but i couldn’t resist. seriously, how gorgeous is this?

That is one HOT electrical conductor! Props for taking something sooo ugly and making it pretty, pretty, pretty. I only wish the actual outlets were on the side so the plugs don’t have to stand so upright and awkward.

love this…already picturing where to use it. Any idea if it is being sold anywhere yet?

Wow! It is about time someone did something like that. I only wish I had thought of it. Really cool

I like this paper shredder…

That is beyond sexy — what a strange thing to write about a surge protector!

Great idea, but I have a feeling that it looks better when nothing is plugged into it.

It’s not often you see the words “sexy” and “surge protector” in the same sentence, but in this case, it’s completely true.

I love this!!! What a great way to make all of those wires you have to have but HATE look great!!

I played with this at ICFF. It’s cool, but it looks terrible once everything is plugged into it.

Very cool. Even with everything plugged in, it’s not as ugly as the standard ones.

maybe just plug a single socket into each, with small round bulb.
presto: it’s a lamp

Wow! Not sure it fits in my home, honestly, but that’s such an elegant idea. I hope it spawns more creativity about how to make essential products like these more attracitive/invisible in the home.

I’m all about “pretty,” and this takes the cake! I do agree with Jacinda, though.

Woah, Jen O. Great idea! A little table lamp/center piece! Genius! I love this. How much and where!?

I was just reading the August edition of Elle and saw it! Such a cool idea!

That is much prettier than what I have under my desk right now. In fact, if I had that surge protector, it wouldn’t even need to be under my desk.

Just because it’s an everyday necessity doesn’t mean it has to be ugly.

I second the paper shredder that Katherine recommends. It works REALLY great and looks awesome under the desk with the iMac on it. It’s like they designed it to match (I’m sure they did).
