Vintage Love

I love vintage anything but my true favorite vintage purchases are accessories. Whether it’s a really cute bag, earrings or a belt I’m all over it! Here are just a few pieces from my vintage collection.

I adore vintage clutches and little coin purses. The belts are from my mother’s closet, I wear them all the time, probably too much.

Most of these were found at flea-markets or in boutiques and others were given to me as gifts. Some are new pieces that incorporate vintage elements like those vintage fabric covered buttons and those retro inspired bangles.

Philly has some GREAT vintage boutiques. Check these out if you’re ever in town:

Forbidden Planet has a superb collection of clothing and jewelry. The owner’s eye is on point. This is one of Philly’s hidden gems.

Decades Vintage is another wonderful store with really cute accessories, it’s where I found the pink clutch.

Vintage Connection is filled with sweet and funky items old and new.

I love Vintage Connection… she’s a great “curator” of vintage!

If you want a full itinerary of vintage shops in Philly, you can see more here:

Why don’t you photograph some of your vintage handbags to create a composition suitable for publishing on a greeting card. Why not gather together various bags so that they overlap slightly and very little background is visible, then photograph from above. You could have fun with the colours…perhaps one photo could be tonal – all reds and pinks etc. – while another is all sorts of different colours. If you do this I would be really intersted to see the outcome. I am an art consultant currently work with a very large greeting card publisher in the UK and this type of image could be perfect!!!
Keep me posted.
