it’s been a long, hot week here in brooklyn but things are looking up and carl and russell made some seriously fantastic progress on our kitchen makeover which i cannot wait to share in a few weeks! until then, here’s are a few “after” shots from maya*made’s barn makeover project. maya and her mother nancy gave the barn a few upgrades and i’m loving these two areas of the house. click here to read maya’s full post and check out the rest of the barn. i’m off to clean up around the house and get ready for a little team d*s trip next weekend so i’ll see you monday. have a great weekend- below is a summary of this week’s highlights.

I enjoy your blog and the great pictures and links, but what on earth have you got against proper capitalization? It’s bad enough that texting has destroyed people’s ability to spell, but do we have to abandon all grammatical conventions?

i love the mismatched stools (especially the old work stool on the far right. my father used to have one just like it in his workshop). and i especially fancy the remade old sign piece hanging above the bar. wonderfully creative.

Grace, this is totally unrelated to today’s entry, but I just wanted to thank you for putting together your handout that you provided at the Design Salon in Boston last month. I have referred to it several times now. Thank you thank you for your time and generosity! See you at SAW!

i don’t CarE how you capitalize (having spent at least a decade fighting grammatical battles in corp land) I LOve the Barn and the sneak peeks. Everything is lovely. DS has contributed to my already strong nesting neurosis. ;-)

I never understood my mom’s desire to live in a barn until now that I am older and can appreciate the appeal. I really want to know about the large art on the wall — too cool, please do tell more about that piece!
