Sticking with the theme of salon-type events this summer, I thought I’d take this opportunity to alert you all to a pretty amazing sounding talk sponsored by Frog Design, Fast Company magazine and NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. This Wednesday, July 16th, Arun Chaudhary, director of video field production for Barack Obama will sit down with senior writer for Fast Company, Ellen McGirt for a conversation. This event, “Obama and Politics 2.0: Documenting History in Real Time,” should prove to be an insightful introduction to the realm of political communication within “web 2.0: collaborative formats, micro-crowds, and social aggregation.” [image above: Arun Chaudhary films Barack Obama on the campaign trail]

I first learned about these very cool events that Frog takes part in when Frog Design had the New York Times Consumed Columnist, Rob Walker, come in to talk about his new book, “Buying In: The Secret Dialogue Between What We Buy and Who We Are.” (Coincidentally Rob will also be the moderator for our final Salon Series in September – “The Politics of Craft”.)
