olga has shared some pretty incredible before & afters with us before and i’m loving this classy update on a bland nightstand she just sent over. it’s amazing what some framing, black paint and crystal detailing can do…thanks, olga!
wow! what a beautiful makeover! some people are just so amazingly creative - if you locked me in a round room with tons of design mags for the rest of my life i still would never come up with anything that cute.
i like the plain version because it’s the kind of piece you “can’t go wrong” with. BUT the makeover is so classy and sophisticated, yet fun enough to go in a kid’s room if you wanted. very nicely done.
Wow, that is such an upgrade. The before version of simple white nightstand (love the wooden legs) was already nice, but after seeing it in a different way with the black framing, it’s pretty wonderful! Love it.
I love this piece! Such a great way to turn a plain jane piece into something spectacular!

Oh I finally really have to say this - your “Before & Afters” should really be called “After & Before” because you always post the After first. And then I’m like, “oh that doesn’t look so bad” and then the next picture is the furniture in it’s original, sad incarnation.
Thank you all lovely people! You’re all wonderful, and the comments are making me feel all gooey.
To answer the questions about the trim, it’s just a thin moulding I found at Home Depot, in the moulding department. It was one of the smallest ones sold, all made of wood. I can’t seem to find a picture anywhere on the net but I promise, it’s at the hardware store. And it’s pretty inexpensive, I think 5 dollars for 8 feet.
The squares on the corners are slices of a square dowel, also from Home Depot. I just bought a dowel for maybe 2 bucks, then sawed it into thin little pieces. After everything was dry, I just used glue to attach. I felt everything was too small and fragile for the nail gun.
Thanks again ya’ll!
