kaarsKoker

i don’t normally post about things that have already made the blog rounds but i am so digging these decorative candle sleeves from april allison of kaarskoker. the first time i checked them out i wasn’t quite sure they were for me, but after browsing the gallery page of april’s site i’m totally hooked. all of that gorgeous pattern and color in such unexpected places- how can you resist? april’s paper sleeves come in a huge variety of colors and prints for around $12-$23 a pair. i’m so tempted to fancy up my dining room chandelier now- what a fun way to dress up lighting. click here to view the full kaarskoker collection and shop online. [thanks, april!]

Thanks for posting as I have clearly been out of the loop. This makes me want to go home and DIY…

The idea is cute, but why spend that much money? Just get some cute paper at a paper store and cover the candle part.

I see your point but is $12 really that much money? To buy nice paper or wallpaper samples like this you’d probably drop close to $12.

what a great idea—such a nice little pop of pattern and color.

and i agree that it’s really not too expensive, if you consider how great the papers she uses are.

$12 doesn’t include shipping or handling… and you can buy old wallpaper books or just pieces of scrapbooking paper for pennies. If you have access to a color printer or a kinko’s you could even print out designs you find online. I can’t imagine anyone but the very rich spending this much on 2 cylinders of paper. VERY VERY inspiring DIY though. Thank you so much for the idea. This blog is a staple of my day.

Hey Grace, I haven’t seen these on other blogs (I only read yours regularly!) so I am glad you posted them. I don’t have a fixture to put these on but damn they are cute.

I think these are great, and it would not be the same to go to kinko’s and print out paper as it is to flimsy

These are great! I really like the unexpected pops of color/patterns - it’s little details like this that really make someone’s home so much more interesting.
