Leaving on a Sweet Note

Since Fridays are reserved for ‘In the Kitchen’ here on Design*Sponge, I thought I would do a little recipe sharing of my own! Although my food photography comes no where near the quality of the regularly featured ‘In the Kitchen’ guests, I will give it my best shot!

Right down the road from Providence, in Seekonk, MA is the incredible Four Town Farm. The ‘you-pick’ options here are simply the best. I am particularly fond of ‘you-pick’ flowers, where you can pick an entire pound of flowers for only $8. How amazing is that! My other favorite you-pick option is raspberries, and in honor of the Four Town Farm’s delicious raspberries, I give you my recipe for Berry Crumble!

Berry Crumble
2 cups berries and raspberries
2 tsp orange juice
splash of vanilla extract
3 tbsp flour
small handful of rolled oats
2 heaping tbsp brown sugar
4 tsp olive oil
2 tsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and coat a small baking pan with cooking spray.
2. Combine the berries, vanilla and orange juice in a bowl.
3. In a separate bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
4. Spread the berry mixture into the baking pan and top with the crumble mixture.
5. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the crumble has browned and the berries are bubbling.
6. Let cool for a few minutes before serving…with ice cream, of course!

So it with great sadness that I wrap up my guest blog! I have had so much fun introducing you to the amazing town of Providence. I am lucky to call this place home! Have a wonderful weekend!
