We absolutely had to include ceramicist Adam Silverman in our list of favorites. He is in Japan for a show right now so we don’t have much in the way of images but his work is so powerful it really doesn’t require much more.

If you haven’t already heard, Adam is coming together with the mighty Heath Ceramics to forge a partnership by launching a new retail studio facility in Los Angeles this December. Heath Ceramics’ new Los Angeles outpost is located at 7525 Beverly Blvd. We cannot wait to see this place, it is sure to be magical. Everything Adam touches is amazing.

And now…….. we are finally ready to reveal the answer to our mystery question… Who is Jenny Pennywood.? We had a lot of great guesses but surprisingly only one correct response.. Fine artist Jen Garrido was the right answer.

She began making drawings and doing design work under the alter art persona Jenny Pennywood to free up and explore a “more design based”, illustrative voice. It was something Jen had thought about for a long time but it wasn’t until this year that she finally decided to do it. The goal with Jenny Pennywood is to allow her to organically evolve as she needs to. Jen would love to create a whole body of work/drawings under her pen-name and possibly even show them somewhere.

As for the real Jen Garrido, she resides in the Bernal Heights area of San Francisco where she continues to work on the paintings and drawings that have made her such a well respected and successful fine artist. Jen also has a new project that she is working on with her boyfriend Josh called Chairtastic, where they recycle, reclaim, reinvent, redesign and get inspired by vintage chairs.
Jen was our Student Of The Month last December and we thoroughly enjoyed the process of working with her. She puts great thought into everything she creates and it really shows in her work.
Check out our final post where we will reveal the winner of our contest.
