rossana orlandi

i’ve been pouring over the new house beautiful book all morning- it’s dedicated entirely to designers’ favorite paint colors (does it get any better than that?) and has given me an entirely new idea for our bedroom. so now that i have a new color scheme in mind (blues!) i’m looking to interiors for some added inspiration. these gorgeous interiors came via angela liguori and are the work of rossana orlandi in milan. that top shot makes me want to bust out some patterned wallpaper in our dining room to go with our bright red chairs. click here for more from rossana orlandi. [thanks, angela!]

That first photo made me think “that’s a lotta look!” (y’know, Tim Gunn style?). But I am loving the restaurant photo with the cutlery prints and all those banquette pillows – dreamy!

Thank you Grace for posting about Rossana Orlandi. I spent at least one hour by going through all the pictures on her website. There are so many and each so beautiful!

Wow! I love the mix of country and modern! The red walnut/teak sofa is killer.

Grace, I wanted to give you a little more food for thought before you pick up the brushes. I just did a bedroom in blues and regretted it. Not only did it feel cooler in the winter but it wasn’t the most flattering for skin colours! It’s like painting the bathroom green and looking sick every time you look in the mirror! My next bedroom will be full warm colours (I dream of dark chocolate). No matter what you do I know you will make it work and I can’t wait to see it!

At first I thought that the first photo was blurry… then the sheer genius of the chair came out, and the red one really stood out. I may reuse my mismatched chair to produce that effect one day; thank you for the inspiration !
