yesterday a reader named karin emailed me and asked “why is all of the fall bedding so boring and dark? can’t anyone design something colorful and happy for fall?” well, it looks like tracy reese did. her saigon bedding for fall 2008 is a bold, colorful departure from the darker earth tones we typically see in winter months. so if you’re looking for something a little brighter this season, check out plenty home by tracy reese. a queen comforter set runs around $300 and you can find her bedding in the tracy reese shop in nyc or in anthropologie, starting in november.

I love colorful, bold prints, but I’m not sure about this one. I think it’s a bit overwhelming for my eyes.

I agree that fall bedding tends to be a bit boring. But this would make me insane at night. A little bit much for me. What I think would be an option for some would be to pick one of the dominant colors in the pattern and use it as a base and then use the colored pillow cases and the yellow pillows as the accents. This I think would be a balance look that says fall, but is not dark and boring.

way too bright for me, which is crazy because i love bright crazy colors. i just think that if i had this in my bedroom, i’d never be able to sleep! i do like the sheets, bed skirt, and shams though…they are adorable!

I love bright colors, but something about this is just overwhelming. I think I’d really dig those pillows on a stark white bed though.

YES! This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for! My master is teal and I’ve been wanting to add a darker but BRIGHT pink as an accent. Thanks SO much for posting this. I’ll be grabbing a few of these pieces.

I just found that French Bull has a collection of bedding. I think it’s new; it’s definitely colorful!

way too clean and flat for me as a whole, but a few pieces of it would be great for a young girl/teenager’s room!
p.s. just say no to bed-in-a-bag sets! the whole thing together is way over the top…
on another note, we had a heated debate at work recently over bedskirts, as in does anyone use them anymore??
