I love the green color, and the yellow pattern inside! Chartreuse is such a happy color! (Since when did people become so rude on Design*Sponge. I agree with elle that people could be a little more considerate when commenting. “yuck, eyesore!” really contributes nothing to the conversation. Grow up.)

I love her little collection of green & white items at the top!! It is a super bright color, but it is also hanging out all by itself against a white wall. I would really like to see it in the context of the room in which she uses it!

Interpretation of design and the use of color is all the eyes of the beholder. Obviously the owner of the cabinet, loves chartreuse/lime green. I, and a few others, did not like that color, but who are you to say we can’t make comments. If the comment section was only for positive remarks, then no thanks. I would WANT to hear everyone’s opinion, good or bad, if it were my piece of newly painted furniture or a before and after piece. I respect the opinions of others and would be interested to hear their thoughts and suggestions. Maybe it is you who contributes nothing to the conversation.

Love the piece itself and would have definitely snatched this up at at the thrift store if I saw it…oh man I have the perfect and most amazing set of 1950’s china that would rock out those shelves!
I would love to see what trinkets she is going to fill it with! The green is bright, but I give her props for taking a risk! We can’t all be safe and color ( paint) within the lines!

I agree with May. If we can only post postive comments, then why even bother? I personally think the white looks better. A toile would look good with the white also. I am one of those readers who likes the before pictures better at times!! I also agree with the comment about the luck of the poster to find such a great item at a thrist shop!

I personally love it…maybe i would have gone ever bolder and put a vibrant color on the inside as well…nothing wrong with vibrant color folks! We dont all live in perfect white boxes with tiny splashes of color.

May, I agree that the comment area is for saying what is on your mind, but keep in mind that somebody put a great deal of work into something i’m sure she’s VERY proud of (as she should be) There is a way of giving constructive crit, so by saying…that something hurts your eyes or physically makes you hurt may not be the nicest way to say…”eh, maybe not how i would have done it, the green is a little bright for my taste.”

i love the green, but would prefer to see it used on the inside of the cabinet, keeping the outside, white, or a possibly, dark gray? also installing some cabinet lights would be dramatic. great find!

I totally agree with Morgan, its exacally what I was going say when scrolling down. May don’t stand up for your comment there is nothing constructive saying it hurts your eyes, it’s just immature.

it’s true that it looked nice in white, but I think Carrie did a great job customizing it to her liking. and I agree with Morgan and the others, what’s the point of saying something negative just for the sake of commenting? i’ve seen plenty of things i didn’t like, but i appreciate the efforts that people put into these pieces [it's a lot of work!], and keep my comments to myself, unless i have a good suggestion or explanation.

I can appreciate the idea behind the green color. Its really bold move, but I would never paint a piece of furniture that color.

I love the green. It’s my favorite color and I can’t get enough of it. I”m about to paint a drinks trolley and a filing cabinet that color, I also have a huge wall hanging in green, white and black. I have a big marrimekko type apple green curtain in my front porch.Okay so the dark grey people hate it. but it is such a lively color and such a contrast to the blue, brown beige brigade people in my neck of the woods. I would hate to live in the world of safe bland colors. My other favorite colors are violet, aqua, red and white stripes, black and white stipes, dark red velvet, gold, purple, mauve and pink. These colors keep me from feeling low on cold dark winter days.
