new: pare umbrella

lately i’ve been spending an inordinate amount of time thinking about rainy climates. it’s certainly not because of the sunny weather in los angeles last week, but rather because i’ve become totally and completely obsessed with the twilight series. i’m not sure if i’m a teenager on the inside or i just have a soft spot for vampire stories (or perhaps just a soft spot for the actor playing edward), but i read the first book in about 6 hours and i’m almost done with the second and it’s only the next day. the books take place in a small town in washington plagued by constant cloudy weather and unrelenting rain storms. so if i was say, the main character of the books rather than bella, i know i would totally wait for edward while carrying one of pare’s new fall 08 umbrellas. i already use one of satoko’s gorgeous designs as my main umbrella, but now i’m thinking of picking up another so i can have a few options when the winter rain comes. if you’re in need of something to get you through the rainy weather click here to check out satoko’s new designs and shop online. if you’re in a need of a good (albeit somewhat tween-y) book i highly suggest twilight. it totally takes me back to high school and all the “bad” boys i wished i was cool enough to date.

Oh my! I love rainy days every now and then, and these umbrellas are gorgeous! I can’t even pick a favorite- they are too pretty. :)

Thank you for outing the Twilight love. I had a similar experience when I tore through all the books in 2 days. As a grown woman I thought it rather amusing how much of my brainshare it took up but nothing beets reminiscing about first love. I think the Cullens would definitely have had umbrellas as stylish as these! Happy reading.

I’m going to email this link to Santa! I could use at least one of these here in Seattle.

All my girlfriends are obsessed with the Twilight series too, and we’re definitely not teenagers or 20 year olds! I love the umbrellas. I just got a great pair of black gloves, so a stylist umbrella is next on the list.

I love the “Missoni-style” patterned umbrellas at the top. I will definitely be picking up one of these to brighten rainy days.

I too have raced through the last of the Twilight series and it was totally worth waiting for.

My 16-yr-old daughter just tore through all the Twilight books in a week. I’ve never seen her do that before, read books so quickly. I’m considering borrowing them!

i just read all the twilight books in a week (I’m 17 so it’s perhaps not quite as embarrassing to admit. perhaps…) as well! although i was short on money and didnt want to fork out at least 100 bucks for all 4 seeing as they were all out at the library, and read them on the net!
those umbrellas are gorgeous! pity australia has just entered summer, though it rained today. im currently wondering whether i can make a parasol work…? any thoughts?

ps. the actor for edward. do NOT get me started on him. i fell in love when i saw him in harry potter as cedric… <3

LOL Twilight and umbrellas on design*sponge, who woulda thunk it?

I’m loving the simple elegance of the pink one, and usually I am NOT a pink kinda girl.

I read YA novels and I like vampire books, but Edward’s stalking of kluzty boring Bella bothers me: he watches her sleep, he secretly follows her to save her when she gets into trouble and she is not able to pursue her educational goals because of him. In the end, I find their relationship more disfunctional than romantic and I hope mothers do read these books with their daughters and discuss these issues.

Ooh, I have a Pare umbrella; it’s a year old and I love it. I get excited when I see rain in the forecast, and I’m not ashamed to say I plan my outfits around the colors of my umbrella :)

Ahh..I love that you admitted to a Twilight obsession on here! When you’re over the age where it’s technically “appropriate” to get lost in girly teen fiction, you start to wonder if you’re the only one!!! Great stuff on here – as always – I love your site!!

PS – Just wait for the Twilight “hang over” – where you’re bummed out that you’ve finished all the books and plea them off on your friends so you can “relive” the experience vicariously!

Oh! I am a Twilighter too! I suggested Twilight on a whim to our bookclub and we ended up reading the entire series together. We are planning on going to the movie on the 21st, in t-shirts we are making ourselves. Any fantastic DIY t-shirt design suggestions for obnoxious 30 year olds? Fantastic site, btw – have gotten loads of ideas and inspiration for my home.

I tore through the Twilight series while on vacation in Las Vegas this past June. Nothing beats sitting by a pool, drinking mojitos and reading about chaste yet extremely hot vampire/teen love. The first book was so sexy it broke my bom-chicka meter! ;)

Love the umbrellas! I’m bookmarking for a later purchase.

Once you start with the Twilight series your week is shot. Forget about it.

Love the umbrellas. Since I lost mine last week I might have to upgrade.
