if there was one show i wish i could go to this season it would be the crafty wonderland show in portland, oregon. just click on over to their vendor list and prepared to get as overwhelmed as i did. (in a good way). it’s a big show. their was so much demand for this show last year that a line of shoppers wrapped around the building. wow! portland you love your handmade goods. good for you. come on down this year to their much larger venue to accommodate everyone at the oregon convention center on dec. 14th from 11am-7pm. check out these artists below.

first up matte stephens. no introduction needed. i think everyone has a fondness for matte’s work. this is one of my favorite color pallettes. they all work so nicely together. matte was so kind as to share a shot of his studio where he works. it looks like a pretty inspiring space. a print of picasso’s guernica on the right and a huge window to gaze out of. very nice. (thanks matte!)

when i came across i made you a beard’s work i was really tickled. erin makes these lovely beards out of felt, yarn and wool. they have a silly sweetness to them. erin also shared an image of her working on a sunny yellow beard. (thanks erin!)
another show taking place in the northwest (seattle to be exact) is the urban craft uprising show. it’s a big show with a lot of great vendors and 2 entire days to shop. they will have giveaways every hour + a sustainable wrapping station. stop by the seattle center exhibition hall on dec 6th and 7th from 11am-5pm for some excellent shopping.

chikabird makes these really cute notebooks complete with a pencil holder. the elastic is great because it can become like an adult “trapper keeper” full of all the receipts and little bits of our lives. everyone wants to be both cool + organized. now you can.
