sneak peek: amenity home

today’s special tuesday sneak peek belongs to kristina de corpo. along with nicole chiala, kristina is one of the designers behind amenity home. we’ve been fans of amenity home for some time so it was a real treat to get a peek into kristina’s beautiful california house. i hope you’ll enjoy her sneak peek as much as we did- thanks to kristina for sharing with us!

[My home faces the sunset in the silver lake hills in los angeles and the living areas have the most beautiful golden tone to them which somewhat inspired the color theme. I'm a huge fan of warm colors. I would say that there is a natural ease to the rooms that I love and that reminds me of the way I grew up which makes me feel at home here in los angeles. The mantel arrangement (above) seems to always be in flux and tends to be focused around my favorite sentimental objects. Sometimes it's a photo or sometimes it's an object that was given to me as a gift recently or long ago. ]

[My grandfather said that a man should always have a saddle horse around, I feel the same way about a warm blanket. I love all things cozy.]

[The duvet cover in my bedroom is one of our first designs that I still really love. It came from a dried pressing from my garden cut from a camelia bush. The throw is an amenity alpaca throw and it's the warmest, coziest blanket and always makes me happy. I like the mixes of wood and natural fiber textures throughout the house especially in the bedroom. And this is george. I am crazy about him and about his coloring. People have been know to give me a hard time that he matches our decor!]

[The dining room is a buttery yellow that turns into a deep golden tone at night with the gold glass pendant lamp above. It's a great room at night to have long conversations. The kitchen also overlooks the view and has a big picture window right over the sink.]

[I didn't realize I liked orange so much until I looked at all these photos! I love roman's room. I made the poster above his bed from one of the covers of my great-grandfather's books. He wrote an autobiographical triology about being a cowboy and pioneering the west. We hang out a lot in here and lounge around on the pillows and play with toys. The green seat is from bilibo which Roman likes to spin around and around in.]

[Our dining area opens up to the deck where we spend a lot of our time throughout the year. The way the house is situated on the hill in the trees it really feels like you're living among the treetops.]

[I found these horses at the santa monica airport flea market for my son. I like to continually have things around that I like to look at that are engaging for children to play with in the living areas. This is my favorite places in the morning or late in the evening when the sun goes down.]

Very warm, comfortable and beautiful home, but oh my goodness I could just sweep George into my arms and hug him forever! (what breed is he?)

I love that this place is modern, rustic and cozy at the same time. The personal touches are fabulous. And I want to steal this dog – George is too cute!

Mmm, I love how woodsy and fall-sy your home is! And all that natural light!

Amidst your ever so warm color scheme, I love the bright splashes of color throughout — the chair in Roman’s room, the green tea kettle and the yellow arrangement on the table! Very nice!

WOW. I love how livable and bright your home is. The Big North poster and the green seat are especially great. *a

where’s the tea kettle from? I have the same design, but it lacks a whistle … which has gotten me into trouble a few times.

Yes, beautiful home! To Jessica, the toddler bed is from Oeuf. I have been eyeing the same one for our baby.

Thanks so much for all your comments. Roman’s bed is from oeuf, http://www.oeufnyc.com. I agree, it’s the most perfect, functional crib that transitioned to a great toddler bed. The tea kettle is from le creuset and the paint on the cabinets is a custom grey-green that was mixed especially for the kitchen. And George, who is the best dog ever, is an English Pointer.

I would love to know where the perfect, glowy light fixture is from in the dining room. I want one in every room…it’s so warm.

Yes, please tell where we can find a similar pendant light to the one in the dining room. Beautiful!

beautiful home! i’m really interested in where the bed frame in the main bedroom is from. i’ve been looking for something natural looking but still structured, and this fits nicely!
